Repairs and Contractor Works

Repairs done right, first time

A clear scope, fair quotes and payment only for finished work.

The best protection a committee has when spending money is a precise description of the work. Clearview writes a technical scope of works for every major job before any quote is sought. Every contractor prices the same work, the quotes can be compared fairly, and surprises during the job are far less likely.

Why the scope matters

A vague request such as “repair waterproofing as required” invites quotes that cannot be compared. The lowest price often wins, and a variation claim follows once work starts. A precise scope names the materials, the method, the curing times and the tests that prove the work is right. Comparable quotes arrive, and the committee can choose with confidence.

From scope to payment

  1. The scope is written. Clearview sets out exactly what is to be done, in what order and to what standard.
  2. Three quotes are sought. Every tendered job receives three quotes, and the committee chooses in the portal.
  3. The work is checked. Contractors provide reports and photographs of the finished work.
  4. Payment follows sign-off. The invoice is paid only once the work matches the scope.

Lifts

A lift is often the most valuable piece of equipment a scheme owns, and one of the most costly to replace. Clearview sets measurable standards in the service agreement, such as uptime and response times for entrapments. Independent consultants review the lifts every two years, and the specification keeps the scheme free to use any qualified technician. Modernisation is planned into the sinking fund well ahead of time.
